I purchased this basting brush to apply egg or cornstarch washes to bread dough prior to baking. I find I keep it in a spoon rest on the stove with a little oil to quickly and lightly coat any pan I'm using before frying. It is a fantastic little brush. It really does sop up and hold a lot of basting liquid, and I don't have to worry about it melting or strands of brush falling out.
