Ideal for those of us who don't want to scratch up our non-stick pots and pans, but not as strong as a metal whisk for those with other cookware or more labor intensive applications requiring greater durability.
As a bonus though the handle is standard Oxo and quite comfortable.

Made of sturdy nylon, the nylon balloon whisk lets in plenty of air for fluffier meringues and custards. The whisk is heat resistant up to 400 degrees so you can whisk directly in a sauce pan, and is safe for non-stick cookware. Dishwasher safe. Not recommended for use in microwave.Whisks
