I am a real fan of the Oxo "Good Grips" products, and this is another good one. Simple, sturdy, well-designed, feels good in the hand. You will have to adjust your mashing style a bit since the handle is shorter and wider than most, but the new design makes sense - you can really lean into the job. Highly recommended.

This innovative Potato Masher lets you make smooth mashed potatoes with less pressure on your hands. A broad, soft, horizontal handle lets you press straight down while it cushions your grip and absorbs pressure. A fine-grid, stainless steel mashing plate yields smooth mashed potatoes with no lumps. This tool is also ideal for mashing yams, carrots, or other root vegetables, or for making homemade baby food by mashing apples or bananas.What, no lumps?
