A friend and I got this pitter mainly for coring quince and to compare with and older peach pitter. The tool is well made with a comfortable handle, but if you need to core a quince or anything hard and dense, it doesn't work well. The edges need to be sharp to be able to cut into a hard fruit.

Pits be gone! If you think preparing fruit is the pits, try the OXO Good Grips Fruit Pitter for removing the pit from peaches, plums and other stone fruits. Just cut the fruit in half and use the Fruit Pitter to pry out the pit. It also works great fro avocado pits.
